How do i get my computer to play sounds through the moniter speakers only?
I’ve got a KDS rad 7-c monitor, and when I click on sounds under control panel, it says no audio device and all the options are grey….I can’t hear anything! Under volume control I made sure “mute all” is not selected….

NONE of these answers helped you? Okay, I’ll look at your question another way. You said you want to play sound through your Monitor Speakers ONLY. This implies that you have a WORKING sound card and you want to use your monitor speakers instead of what you’re using already. Just unplug the audio cable for your speakers and plug in the audio cable from the monitor into the same jack. If you don’t have an audio cable coming out of your monitor, then call KDS tech support. Okay, so much for that problem.
If you can play sounds fine with other programs and only the Sounds Control Panel applet is giving you trouble, then that program is corrupted. Otherwise, you can try re-installing your sound card drivers.

Uh, do you have a sound card? You need a PCI sound card or one that is built into your motherboard in order to get sound.
Press and hold the Windows key and press the Pause/Break key. Click the Hardware tab and click the Device Manager button. Look under ‘Sound, Video & Game Controllers’ to see if you have a sound device installed. If you see something like ‘Unknown sound device’ with a yellow question mark, then you have a sound card, but the driver for it is not installed. If you don’t see any sound devices, you’ll have to go buy one.
If you have a sound card, but don’t have a CD with the sound card drivers on it, you’ll have to go to the manufacturer’s web site to get it.
Look on the back of the computer case. If you see audio plugs which are coloured green, blue, and pink (or something like that) and those jacks are close to the exhaust fan, then you have a sound card built into your motherboard.
If your computer is something like a Dell, or HP, then go to their web site. If you have a computer that was slapped together from a computer store (i.e. no brand name), you’ll have to open up the computer and get the name of the motherboard, model number, and (optional) revision number. Common motherboard names are Gigabyte, PC Chips, ASUS, SIS, MSI, Fox Conn, ECS, and ASROCK.
